Annie Mayes is a veteran educator who joined STF's board in 1998.

She was born, raised, and educated in Mississippi.  Annie received Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee, and holds a a Master of Science Degree in counseling/guidance and post-graduate certification in school administration from Butler University in Indianapolis.

Annie has been an educator in the Indianapolis Public School system for 33 years, serving as a junior high school mathematics teacher for 12 years, a Title I mathematics consultant for 6 years, and a junior high school assistant principal for 5 years.

Annie has been principal of Crispus Attucks Middle School for the last 9 years, and will retire in June of this year.
