Derrick Toran, founder of STF, is a Sales Engineer for Allison Transmission Division of General Motors. Derrick’s interest in founding STF was to address the poor academic performance of students in the public schools, and to help financially disadvantaged kids attend college. He has served as the assistant Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America troop 911. He has also coached the Boys Junior Varsity Basketball team at Broad Ripple High School, five years. Derrick received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Communications/Education from Butler University in 1988. He is a member of the Teachers Credit Union Supervisory Committee.
